What to Pack for a Ranthambore Safari: Season-Wise Checklist

Why Packing Matters

Safaris in Ranthambore run in open vehicles for about three hours, at dawn or in the afternoon. Temperatures can swing from cold mornings to hot afternoons. The right clothes and gear make the drive far more comfortable and help you focus on wildlife.

Neutral-coloured clothing: khaki, olive, brown or grey. Avoid bright colours and white

  • Closed, comfortable shoes
  • Sunglasses and a hat or cap
  • Water bottle, preferably reusable
  • Binoculars, useful for birds and distant animals
  • Camera or phone with spare battery and memory
  • Scarf or buff for dust
  • Wet wipes or tissues

Temperatures often exceed 40°C.

  • Light cotton clothing in neutral colours
